Široko stopnišče povezuje nadstropja in tvori krožno pot okoli atrija. v pritličju se stopnišče spusti v klet z mehko oblikovanim preddverjem pred avditorijem.

Zasnova sledi načelu iskrenega prikaza materialov gradnje.

»The project proposes a new library as a landmark and spatial orientation point within the campus.
Positioned at the edge of the campus, the new library simultaneously serves as the main entrance and the central hub of the campus.
By its very nature, the circular form is equally oriented in all directions. Its balanced relationship to both the city/boulevard and the university campus promotes the theme of campus openness and encourages xchange and encounters. The circular shape also affirms and consolidates the pedestrian network of the entire campus, with all paths intersecting at the library’s center. Through its circular form, the library abolishes the hierarchical organization of the immediate urban context as well as the hierarchical arrangement within the building itself. The radial internal organization is structured around a green atrium, serving as the building’s microclimatic core. This atrium connects all functional programs, enables an integrated system of ventilation and climate control, and simultaneously unites all floors into a coherent whole. At the ground floor, the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces are almost entirely erased, creating a continuous public space—a potential “living room” of the campus. The rudimentary nature of the form is translated into a clear and legible structural system, allowing exceptional flexibility in the spatial organization of individual floors. The structural system consists of seven oval concrete cores, reinforced with columns that house vertical circulation and auxiliary library spaces. All remaining space is open for flexible programmatic allocation. The complex program of the library is interpreted by the authors in the simplest possible manner, as a sequence of programs arranged in a ring-shaped layout, oriented simultaneously toward the campus and the atrium at the building’s center.
The entire building is conceived as a monomaterial, cast-in-place concrete structure with a repetitive modular glass envelope. The monomateriality of the building and the simplicity of its final form
introduce Cartesian clarity into the otherwise spatially incoherent campus.
By integrating form, structure, programmatic organization, and materiality, the project generates a simple yet complex iconic building, serving as the center of the new/old campus. The library project holds the potential to become a true social hub — a new social platform for the university.«
